Nic’s scientific background combined with over 15 years of agricultural field and biological experience provides Multiverse Capital™ portfolio companies with new possibilities of productivity, profitability, and professionalism. Nic holds degrees in Environmental Studies and Biology and is a Veteran of the United States Air Force.

Managing Director

Skip Sanzeri is a Managing Director for Multiverse Capital™ and heads up corporate strategy for 3C, the nation’s leading strategic cannabis consulting firm, where he is responsible for branding, PR, marketing, and partnerships.

Recently Skip raised $7.6m in capital for a cannabis sensor company and spearheaded the effort to take the company public. Skip is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur who has helped a variety of startups launch, grow and successfully exit. In addition, he has funded and launched his own companies.

Skip started his entrepreneurial career at an early age buying a Gold’s Gym in the San Francisco Bay Area expanding to a total of six clubs before exiting via a sale of the franchise to 24-Hour Fitness. He then helped grow the IAC division of Ziff-Davis publishing to $250 million, after which he helped sell to Thomson Publishing. Skip continued his entrepreneurial career with Sequoia Capital-backed which was acquired by Lycos. Skip then founded and funded the first open source strategy firm – Open Source Group, which was sold to Olliance, Inc.

Throughout his career, Skip has helped other startups, launch, grow, and exit. Skip earned his bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College, and then followed with a Master’s in Public Administration from the College of Notre Dame. Skip has worked many volunteer projects and is a Distinguished Fellow and on the Board of Governors of the New Westminster Society, a global organization providing educational scholarships for those in need.

Marty Dirks

Head of Investment Committee

Marty has more than twenty years of experience as an institutional investor. He has been a long/short equity analyst/portfolio manager at Feshbach Brothers, Odyssey Partners and Harvard’s endowment. At Harvard, he was the sole manager of a long/short technology equity portfolio that grew from $110 million to $870 million. As an investment consultant at Milliman, he advised pension plans, endowments and foundations on projects ranging from asset allocation and manager selection to being the sole investment advisor for several defined benefit and defined contribution pensions, endowments and foundations. He served as the Milliman in-house expert for hedge funds, venture capital, private equity and other alternative investments. Marty also serves as a Board Member for the City of San José Retirement System and is a Senior Adjunct Professor of Finance at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Engineering Physics.

Dr. Pranita Kanekar

Strategic Adviser to Multiverse Capital

Dr. Pranita Kanekar, born in India, learned about the medical cannabis industry in California when she was a post-graduate resident at UCLA. Dr. Kanekar served as a retail coordinator and product processor at MedMen, where she provided high-level medical consultation to cannabis patients and trained sales associates on how to assess patients appropriately. Additionally, Dr. Kanekar designed and implemented the compliant cannabis waste management methodologies for all MedMen dispensaries and cultivation sites across the states of California, Nevada, New York, and Florida. Her experience in the medical industry and hospital administration have proven to be valuable in implementing institutional systems into dispensary operations.

Dr. Kanekar joined the UCLA student group Cannaclub to keep abreast on all aspects of the industry. She has also established relations in the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, Cannabis Research Initiative at UCLA, and the Bureau of Cannabis Control. Dr. Kanekar offers a broad scope of experience including regulatory compliance, hospital administration, patient wellness, and analysis. She is multilingual speaking; English, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, and Sanskrit

Brent is CEO of Hoban Law Group, the nation’s leading full-service “cannabusiness” law firm. In addition to his role as CEO of the firm, Brent serves on the executive team of Mazakali, a leading investment banking and capital advisory firm in the cannabis industry. Brent has over 25 years of finance, legal and executive-level management experience at numerous companies, law firms, and investment firms. Brent previously served as EVP, Managing Director and General Counsel of First Capital Ventures; EVP, CFO & General Counsel for Atrium Capital Management Group; and Associate General Counsel for Quiznos. Brent has managed and executed over $2 billion in capital raising, private equity, venture capital and M&A transactions and has managed multiple investment funds up to $65 million in AUM. He routinely advises investors, fund managers and companies regarding capital raising, structure, finance, and operations. Brent is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and served on active duty in the Air Force for five years, rising to the rank of Captain. He also holds a JD from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the University of Nebraska.
